This Site has come about because of a mega saga I had with Mattressnextday (Bedsonline.biz) and the appalling service I had from them. The quality and service was so bad I was shocked they could get away with it.
I feel others need to about the bad experience I had, to help them decide if this (mattressnextday) is a company they wish to deal with..
Why?

Mattressnextday have contacted me, and apologised for the bad I experience I had, and would like to make the following statement:-
Mattressnextday would like to apologies to all our customers who have experienced poor service, and let them know that we take these matters very seriously. Whilst we do not want to hear bad comments, websites such as these help enable us to look at how we can improve. Over the past two years, the company has grown very quickly, which has resulted in the companies infrastructure not being able to cope properly. Whilst this is NOT the customers fault, and they should NOT be inconvenienced in any way, does provide an insight as to why a small percentage of our customers have had a bad experience.
Over the past six months we have been upgrading our systems, and whilst we are still improving, believe big improvements have already been made. Below is an outline of just some of the areas we are dealing with:-
- We have now installed a NEW stock control system, this enables us to keep a tighter check on what is in stock, when new stock is arriving etc. This information is currently being integrated into the Website with improvements being made all the time.
- We have moved our courier company to Tuffnells as we have found they provide a better more reliable service. Plans are already being worked on, to have tracking information tagged with each order, so a customer knows when their order has left our warehouse, and where about it is.
- New functionality / Checking in the Website to reduce the possibility of Lost orders.
- Customer Services has been re-structured, with new personnel being employed.
- Sales team expanded, and provided with in-house training on all our products.
At Mattressnextday we sell thousands of Mattresses a month, with only a very small percentage of customers having any problems. We are constantly striving to improve the service / products we provide and have many customers both phone and e-mail us to tell us how happy they are.

Ordered single mattress for my 3 year old only lasted a year and half rubbish! Rang them they won’t do anything about it I expected the mattress to last a least 3-5 years will never order from them again!!!!!!
I have just ordered a mattress from this company, and they sent me the wrong size, when I rang them after eventually getting through, she said that was the size I ordered and that I would have to pay £50 for collection (mattress cost £49.99), or I could use my own courier. I then sent an email and they rang me back, repeating her self yet again, telling me there was nothing she could do. I told them it was the worst customer service I have ever received, I hung up the phone in tears.
My initial experience with Mattress Next Day was ok, although when I placed my order I was told that my order was out of stock and that they would contact me when the bed was back in stock. They didn’t contact me, I had to chase them. When the bed finally arrived in November, I was very disappointed with the quality. It was poorly made and one of the drawers in the divan was broken. I immediately reported it and they said they would order and despatch a replacement. I am still waiting 5 weeks later. I have chased them 3 or 4 times and they just tell me that they do not have any in stock.. This level of service is unacceptable. I would not recommend that anyone buys from this company. The service and the quality is poor.
Ordered from this company yesterday was told mattress was in stock and would be delivered by 1pm today,well it is now 2.30pm and still nothing,no emails or phone calls,complete scum bags.
after phoning them up they told me it was due today and has arrived.
I made an order payment and paid on-line only to to be told that my mattress had ‘fallen out of stock’. I telephoned their customer service & was advised that they would have more stock ‘next week’ & they would call to arrange delivery. No further call received from them. I then found this website & became concerned. I telephoned 0800 9702050 (provided by another dissatisfied customer) and got through after about 10 minutes waiting. I was advised item still not in stock, so have asked for full refund which should be in my bank 3-5 days (fingers crossed). It sounded like there was only one person on customer service (not much background chatter), so no wonder delay in answering. She seemed ok as customer advisers go (and if she was manning single handed – hope she finds a better job soon
)
Ordered on line, immediate email confirmation, delivered next day 09:00 no problems at all. Used this company last Christmas no problems then and product ordred, Coolflex 1400 single mattress, gets rave reviews from whoever sleeps on it. Price was right as well, so as we have more people arriving for Christmas this year, I ordered the same mattress!. Sorry about those who’ve had problems but I was impressed when the van turned up this morning bright and early. Would definitely recommend the mattress and the company. Your site wouldn’t let me add a rating it kept reverting back to a lower rate. For the record I’d give them 10/10 as I had no problems and am a satisfied customer.
I ordered a bed and mattress on 25th November 2011, with delivery promised for 29th November (my son’s birthday – the bed was for him) it is now 6th December and I am still waiting. I have emailed twice – no response, and attempts to call are ridiculous, they either quote “we are too busy to take your call right now” and then cut you off, or you wait ages for a human to speak to you. I finally amnaged to get through yesterday afternoon and asked “What part of Mattress NEXT DAY am I misunderstanding ?” I have paid over £300 to this company, thye have my money, I have no goods. They apparently have a problem with the supplier, okay, this happens, but the website should advise that the item is not in stock. I was asked to choose an alternative, if I had wanted another item, I would have ordered another item. Not impressed, wish I had seen this site before I ordered and paid, now I am stuck, they have my money. Never again.
I guess I had an okay experience with this company.
Monday: I ordered a budget mattress in the morning, to be delivered the next day. They sent me an email in the afternoon saying that the mattress was out of stock. They tried to ring me as well, but I was at work. I was a little unhappy that they had taken my money for an out-of-stock product. When I found this website I really panicked and thought they must be a scam or something. Their call centre closes at 5 so I had to wait till the next day to contact them. I planned to demand a refund and get a mattress from someone more reputable, like Argos or Ikea.
Tuesday: I rang them in the morning, got through after about 5 minutes, and they said the mattress was now in stock. They said it would be delivered 8am – 1pm the next day. The guy on the phone was polite enough. At this point I had been sleeping on the floor for a while and was desperate for a mattress to be delivered ASAP, so I decided to give them another chance and see if they delivered.
Wednesday: The mattress was delivered in the morning as promised. It was clean and the correct size. I have to be honest, it’s not especially comfy; the springs poke into your back a little bit and I will have to put down some extra bedding on top of it to make it more comfortable. But I did order the very cheapest mattress, so I wasn’t expecting it to feel like sleeping on a fluffy cloud!
I’m going to keep the mattress as long as I can, but all in all I don’t think I would order from these guys again – they took money for something that was out of stock and kept me waiting an extra day, which caused me a lot of inconvenience. I also think it’s a good idea to actually test out a mattress for yourself in a shop. The Internet is a wonderful thing sometimes, but nothing beats try-before-you-buy
Next time I’m going to take a trip to a proper bed shop and save myself the hassle.

Ordered on-line late at night got a call next morning to say it was out of stock. Decided to wait for it to come back in stock call back within the day back in stock and dispatched didn’t get next day delivery but i wasn’t surprised we don’t get next day from many places where i live mattress has arrived and is what i ordered not the most organised company but i was reasonably happy with service and any one i spoke to where very polite good customer services
No problems here, ordered yesterday mattress delivered today.
Horrible nightmare! Almost a week late with delivery, left heaviest part of the bed on the ground floor (so I had to find some men to help me carry it upstairs to my flat), once in, I found out there are no instructions as to how to assembly the bed (which costs me £800!!!!)! Dozens of small bits and bobs + 3 parts of actual bed – it has been for weeks and I can’t figure out how to put them together! Called and emaield their “famous” customer services (read other reviews on that!!!!) millions of times they refuse to give me an instruction OR any help whatsoever (feeding me promises that their supplier, SlumberDream based in Birmingham, will contact me – heard nothing from them alright for over 5 days!)… Moreover, they told me the mattress will be firm over the phone, but in reality its not at all – parts of my body went numb when I tried sleeping on it the other night! Am now seeking legal help and also asked for help from the credit card department in my bank.
Product arrived the next day but not in the morning as advertised on the website – 2 hours late.
Called customer service as one item did not arrive – after 6 attempts and no answer I sent a message through there website and a hour later got a call back from a rude unprofessional and not interested called called Suzanne. She was talking and laughing to her colleagues when I was trying to talk to her – no care in the world.
Problem not solved.
MY ADVICE ADVOID – USE ANOTHER CUSTOMER FRIENDLY COMPANY
I tried to order on the phone but could not get through (all operators busy…) so I ordered online at 10pm. Next day I get a phone call which I missed so retreived a voicemail message, saying the item I ordered was out of stock, and to ring them. So I rang them and surprise, still couldn’t get through (still busy). Now I don’t know whether they took my money or not.
I have met one other company as stupid and devious as this one (UK2.net) and would say to anyone thinking of using them – only if you are a masochist.
Why would you want to antagonise your customers so much ?? Beats me.
Ordered online without reading these comments but luckily mattress turned up the next day although not the one I originally ordered as it was out of stock !!! Delivery was missing a protector to which they have not replied to emails and the phone number is a waste of time, I would avoid at all costs
I had the same issue with the item being out of stock. Took me three attempts over lunch time to get through but did manage to speak to a polite lady who said the item will be back in stock later in the week at which point they’ll be in touch to arrange delivery. So far so, well, ok…..
I placed my order for a mattress and a pack of two twin pillows from Mattress Next Day on Monday 19th September, and the delivery date was Wenesday 21st September, and I feel very lucky as they delivered on the day they said they would and at 11:00am. I’f I had seen these reviews before I placed my order I wouldn’t of.
I would of got scared away, after seeing these bad reviews I called them up straight away to check the status of my order it took me a couple of rings to get through but I did and the man I spoke to was polite and said my mattress would be there before 1:00pm which it was so I am happy with the service I got.
I am becoming increasingly concerned about an order that I paid for online August 2011, with MattressNextDay. The items were not in stock and I have tried repeatedly for the last month to contact them via their 0844 number but no-one answers the phone. They have £270 of my money and I want a refund! HELP
Along with many others, this company’s website allowed me to order a mattress that was out of stock and took my £180.
They e-mailed me once to tell me and asked me to ring them. They then didn’t answer the phone for a whole week and did not respond to a single e-mail that I sent! When I finally got through to them, I did my best to curb my anger and the lady that I spoke to was polite and apologetic. She promised that a refund had been processed, but as so far nothing has appeared on my on-line statement.
Overall, AWFUL SERVICE and not worth the aggrevation when other companies offer similar prices. They have clearly not implemented the improvements that they promised back in Nov 2011. Simply too greedy to invest profits in providing better service – a very short-sighted policy!

Worst company ever never buy from them they con you I am going to contact watch dog about them so everyone will know what they are like false advertising.
I seriously consider also contacting Watchdog regarding this company – it is by a very long stretch the worse compnay I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and should need to be exposed all ove rNational Television. I have been fighting wiht them for 2 years over a faulty mattress….
I have tried to call this company 45 times in the last 24 hours. They took my money and then called to say they were out of stock. I now cannot contact them.

OMG! I SO WISH I’D FOUND THIS REVIEW WEBSITE BEFORE I PLACED AN ORDER WITH THIS COMPANY! I SO wouldn’t have just been robbed of £165!!! Have just spent 7 hours waiting for my mattress to be delivered..tried to contact so-called ‘customer services’..only to get an automated voice and then promptly cut off! Have tried emailing..just waiting to try and get hold of a real person via an alternative freephone number I found online for this company-so at least when I encounter an Arsehole Rep like others have experienced-its not costing me more money via phone bill! Wish I had found this website before I ordered with Mattressnextday. I have actually rung them over 40 times now over the past few days and I have not once been able to get through. I have also sent them multiple emails as I have not received my mattress and I have no idea how to get hold of them to find out where the hell it is!
Feel like I have had £150 stolen from me. Completely appalled at how bad a company they are. If anyone is reading this who has placed and order – ask for a refund! Though since they never pick up the phone or reply to emails sent through their website i doubt you’ll get very far!!
They didn’t have the mattress I wanted in stock so sent another one that was recommended as similar. The mattress was way too hard. Couldn’t get through to customer services for about a week as noone answers the phone. When they did they said it would be £50 for tem to collect the mattess to exchange it and thatthey couldn’t collect it on a Saturday. The maager I spoke to was very rude and patronising. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.
I ordered without reading comments, placed order at 11pm on Tuesday and order delivered perfectly this morning at 10am (thursday) cant fault it, great quality for the money spent and good service
RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, INTIMIDATING. Just a few words to describe my experience with the customer service ‘team’ at mattressnextday . co . uk. Their main approach is to persist by repeating the same unhelpful sentence and then accuse you of being rude and demanding an apology from you before they will help you. On a complete power trip as they know they have the upper hand once they have your money. Ordered a PLAIN damask mattress and received a damaged, blue square print (ugly) mattress. Told this was the correct mattress (but no mention of sending patterned mattresses when the description says plain in the terms and conditions.) And that if I couldn’t e-mail a photo of it I would have to pay to send it back. The staff are clearly trained to intimidate and manipulate the customers so that they just give up. I have spent most of the morning crying.. not because it is 60 quid down the drain but just how horribly I have been spoken to

I was going to buy from them both bed and mattress but now that I read these comments I changed my mind. In addition their web-site does seem to be misleading particularly because the essential features such as thickness is not mentioned. Plus they told me I would have to pay 69 pounds to return the mattress and 50 pounds to swap….. sincei I dont trust their quality and they dont provide adequate return procedures I dont think it is worth it to risk yuor money for something you are not sure of.

Product good but the lack of after care service is appauling, as when you call they say it is in small print that they dont take up stairs. so I have a mattress I cant use.
Ordered mattress out of stock not available next day. Had to pay extra £19 delivery for saturday delivery so not always free delivery. Then they refuse to delivery item upstairs. just left in my lounge door way and unable to manouvre around it. I live on own and too big to move. very disappointed, do not order from mattress next day.

We are a small hotel and ordered a mattress. They emailed us quickly to say it was out of stock and a few days later delivered it. No problems and good service.
I called just before 4pm on the 09th and asked about delivery time. The sales person asked ME what i was ordering and told him. he advised me both item were in stock. bearing in mind this is at 3.50pm just before the deadline. they took my money. I got home and got an email to say my item was not in stock. How very stupid of them to take your money if they dont have this item in stock. Will not use and others… pls do not use also. sound like amateurs.
Ordered a silent-night miratex 300 mattress on bank-holiday Monday, so the earliest they could deliver was Wednesday. However person on the phone told me before purchase that the this mattress was out of so would not arrive by Wednesday. Received mattress on Thursday; so far so good. However the box was damaged and poorly packed already you can see this was not a brand new product. In fact it was not even a silent-night brand, and the free memory foam was clearly been used (it still had someones hair stuck too it). will cal them tomorrow……..
was informed after ordering online and paying for item that it was not in stock. Had to request refund as needed mattress immediately. Disappointed that information the item was not in stock was not provided when ordering item.
excellent service, ordered 2.30pm Ponday , phoned tuesday am to query delivery and was told it would be delivered before 1.00pm that day arrived 11.15 am. Mattress as described,and we received a free memory foam pillow which my husband is very happy with.
We are very pleased with the mattress – what would have really been good was if you could have put in another pillow as we had to change the item to one you had in stock – which we would have advised our friends to use your company.

Extremely poor. Did not receive parts for bed assembly. Mattress Next Day promised to ship them for next day delivery. This has not happened. Now unable to contact Matterss Next Day by phone and they have not responded to my email rejecting the order and requesting collection of the bed.
Avoid this company like the plague! Mattress Next Day? well, apart from the company name being a false phrase, 10 days later and my order is STILL not with me. First of all I was told that the item was not in stock, the following day it was, then I’m told delivery will be between 8 and 1pm, and having waited in ALL day, the delivery did not arrive. I phoned the company, and was told that it will be with me in the afternoon, and then waited in all afternoon and it still did not show up. They rearranged delivery and again, I waited in all morning and it still did not show up. The company told me that their couriers INTERLINK had not even put in on van for posting even though staff told me it was a priorty delivery. I have now cancelled my order, requested a refund, and would recommend people to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY and go to a proper mattress company – total WASTERS! I’m just waiting to see if I get my refund now…
grrrrrr! I wish I read these posts PRIOR to ordering from Mattress Next Day! If you are thinking about putting in an order with them- just walk away! It isn’t worth your time or money!
I ordered a frame March 16th from MND. It was not our first choice but they claimed to be able to deliver it within 3 days which was about 1 week faster than another more expensive frame from a different company. No such luck. It arrived on the 22nd but was damaged before it was even boxed for shipping (the factory ‘fixed it’ with wood glue not even close to the actual wood’s color) and they failed to include ANY hardware. After several calls (all went to vm) and an email including detailed photos of the damage I was finally told the hardware would be sent “right away” and they gave us a small refund (I wasn’t going to pay full price for something that wasn’t even close to in new condition!). After several additional phone calls (all went to vm) & emails due to the missing hardware not arriving, I was very excited when the hardware arrived on April 2nd- yay right? Wrong! It didn’t have all of the pieces! Seriously? Who is in charge of this business? Several more calls (all went to vm yet again) and another email & hopefully it will arrive tomorrow (April 5th) but they “cannot possibly do” anything else for my time & inconvenience. DO NOT USE MATTRESS NEXT DAY! You will not get what you have paid for when you are supposed to get it!!!!!!

I ordered a memory foam mattress from MatressNextDay. It arrived as informed but the smell from the mattress is awful. I bought the mattress because I am asthmatic and it was promoted as hypo-allergenic and dust mite resistant. The smell (and whatever was causing it) aggravated my asthma. There is no mention on their product description of the smell. I waited a few days to see if the smell would disappear but it didn’t. I wrote to them sending my letter by Special Delivery. I said that the mattress was affecting my health and that I wouldn’t have bought it if they’d have adequately explained about the smell on the description. I got a letter back saying that if I return the mattress ‘at my expense’ they will issue a full refund or exchange. When delivered the mattress was rolled and in a box, the memory foam increases in size over 24 hours and returning it will be a costly option. I haven’t yet decided what to do. I have since noticed that other memory foam mattress suppliers put a notice on their products highlighting the smell issue so that customers are in the know BEFORE they purchase. When you investigate the cause of the smell (Mattress Next Day say it is caused by a spray to make the product fire retardant which will dissipate with use) there are some real horror stories reported on the web. I just know it currently affects my breathing and MattressNextDay should warn customers in the product description for each memory foam mattress.
I paid for a saturday delivery & the bed did not turn up. I waited in a second saturday and it turned up, only to find it broken. I called the company approx 30 times until I got an answer. They picked up & said they would need to see photos of the broken bed before they collect it! I am still awaiting their decision.
Staff are VERY rude and unhelpful. Even when selling they item they were not helpful!
I would strongly warn anyone against this company, they are cowboys!
The mattress is excellent and very good value for money, once the item was in stock it was delivered as promised. However, the website states it is a next day delivery, but our item was not in stock and we had to wait a week. We ordered just after Christmas, so perhaps a bad time. We were kept informed of the order status, but every time we tried to call back it was impossible to get through on the telephone, which was frustrating. Delivery. It would have been useful if we had known that such a large mattress would be delivred by only one driver,A very helpful driver I have to say. Some one may have enjoyed watching a pair of almost eighty year olds negosiating the mattress through the hallway and up the stairs, well we did have all day befor we had to go to bed
l ordered a new Mattress from MattressNextDay, on Thursday 3rd March 2011. l went on line to check on delivery and found this review site. l was horrified by some of the accounts that l read.
l phoned the company, the phone was answered within 4/5 rings they confirmed my mattress would be delivered on Saturday, It Was, so my experience was good.
I must admit after reading comments on this site about Mattress next day,i was a bit aappraisive about the prospects of me receiving my mattress.Although i did not get the mattress next day after placing order.it was delivered one week later,but they did phone me to update me on the delivery date whch was today (Friday 04/03/11 ) sure enough mattress arrived 8.15 this morning complete whith free memory pillow.No complaints from me,staff at mattress next day were very polite when i spoke with them on the phone,i will be ordering another one from this firm, because i got a good quality mattress at a good price.
Overall very good. What was interesting, however, was that I was also having a bed delivered on the same day and I received a text message the evening before informing me of the 2 hour slot during which the delivery was to be made. If I had received the same from yourselves I would have been able to plan my day better and not had to be at home for the whole morning. This is just a suggestion as a way to improve – not a critisim of the service that I had expected and received. Keep up the good wo

I was given two free pillows but only one arrived I contacted Matteressnextday via email informing them I had only received one pillow. Within 24 hours they sent out the missing pillow which was great. So I can recommend there customer service as being very good.
I have just received my mattress from this shambles of a ‘company’, and would strongly suggest that never use this company. Their attitude is disgusting, and website is extremely misleading. I ordered a 2ft 6in mattress, and then when it arrived it was too long. I needed a Shorty Mattress which when I entered into Google this site came up. I then clicked on 2ft 6in mattresses, and looked at the details of the mattress I had chosen. It does not state the actual dimens …
Wish I had seen this site before I ordered: it now looks like I have a lot of hassle ahead of me. I placed order Friday for a Saturday morning delivery (for which you pay £20). The mattress did not arrive. I have tried calling them over 30 times on both the 0845 and 01227 number but all I get is a message saying try again later. I have also emailed them.
No one has called me to say where the mattress is and I am now worried it will turn up while I am at work (although I am more worried it wont turn up at all). It would be useful to know how people managed to contact mattressnextday as it seems fairly impossible.
With all the complaints on here I will be looking at getting the media involved in investigating this company.
Having read all these reviews it wouldalso be useful to know if anyone managed to get a refund.
We are currently trying to get a refund which they have stated they will do. With my order which was last Saturday i only received the frame – very poor quality. The mattress arrived Monday morning as i was leaving for work! The company told me they will refund when they get the mattress back. I will update if we manage to get a refund.

I wish i’d read these reviews i ordered Sunday for a delivery today. Took the day off and paid someone to remove my old bed. Bed never arrived. Called at 14.30 to be told it was there error on the system and i could have it Friday, as i was working they said Saturday. Im a single mum and spent saving of nearly £400 on mattress and frame now worried i wont get nothing. Asked for refund but said it could take up to 3 days! So now sleeping on the floor fingers crossed it comes but from the reviews im worried.
Just an update Saturday came and received just the frame!!!! Spent ages on the phone and still cant get through. WOULD RECOMMEND NOT TO USE never had such shocking customer service.
Ordered mattress 3pm on a Thursday afternoon and after ordering saw the reviews left by other customers and began to regret placing the order. Should not have worried – arrived at 10am the next morning perfectly packaged and delivered by a very pleasant helpful driver. Great price, great deal, great service. Will use again.
I’ve recently bought two mattresses from this company and both arrived the day after ordering as promised. I don’t have any cause for complaint although I wouldn’t have used this company if I’d have read the reviews first. Both mattresses are made by brands I trust though so I’m optimistic that they’ll wear well. Time will tell…
I have just received a mattress from this shambles of a ‘company’, and would strongly suggest that this ‘company’ should never be used by anybody again! Their attitude is disgusting, and website is extremely misleading. I ordered a 2ft 6in mattress, and then when it arrived it was too long. I needed a Shorty Mattress which when I entered into Google this site came up. I then clicked on 2ft 6in mattresses, and looked at the details of the mattress I had chosen. It does not state the actual dimensions of the mattress on the individual mattress pages, and when I complained about this, an arrogant office junior with the intelligence of a monkey has just informed me that I should have checked the whole website for details of the dimensions – why should I do this, it should be on the page of the product I was buying so that vital information cannot be missed! Clearly the staff at this pathetic excuse of a company have some serious training issues, as do the website designers. I own and manage three companies, and if any of my staff ever gave any of my customers the attitude that I received today over the telephone, they would be seriously disciplined…….obviously the owners of this ‘company’ care more about making money by misleading consumers rather than providing a quality service that people will use again and again……WHAT A FARCE OF A COMPANY!
Very poor service. The rating system on the website makes no distinction in firmness with the different types of springs etc. I ordered a 9/10 firm mattress and its really soft and poor quality. Customer services very unhelpful. The best they can do is to tell me to bear the cost of returning the mattress by courier! Also if i need another they advise me to pay for another one from a rating system which has no true value. I believe that the website misrepresents certain products so am taking up the matter with trading standards.
Placed my order on Thursday night, and everything was in stock, received an email Friday lunch time advising me the bed was out of stock and contact us urgently. I tried for well over an hour and was unable to get any response, I then looked at this website and thought great here we go!!!!! BUT when I did get through there couldn’t of been nicer people, I explained I was concerned I wasn’t able to get through on the phone and also about the comments I had been reading on the website. They reassured me about all the problems, we found another bed that was in stock, we agreed on a price and it was ALL delivered the next day! WE WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN!!!!!
I really wish I had discovered this website before placing an order with mattress next day. Truly awful experience. I’ll keep it brief: my delivery date was changed, the goods did not turn up on the new delivery date (after I had booked the day off work especially), I tried around 40 times to call and couldn’t get through to anyone, half the delivery turned up unannounced the following day, still no reply to my e-mail asking where the other half was, then today the other half of the delivery turned up. It has been a real eye-opening experience and has taught me to do a bit of research first before ordering with companies like this. Even with supply bottlenecks the least mattress next day could have done would be to contact me and update me on what was going on. Good customer service really does diffuse an otherwise frustrating situation, however in this case there was NO customer service – who’s manning the phones at mattress next day? And adherence to delivery dates is crucial, again here the company failed miserably. A good managing director worth his salt would review the whole situation and deliver on his promises of change and improvement. There’s more to running a business than just taking people’s money. All in all, an experience I wish I’d done without and I could not ever recommend Mattress Next Day to anyone. Abysmal.

What a rubbish service. Had I read the reviews first I would never have ordered from this company! The mattress came no problem but I’m still waiting for the bed! I keep chasing but they don’t pick up their phone or respond to emails.

Hours went by no call so phoned back got told it had already been deliverd. Forgot Half of the Bed
after reading the reviews i was worried about receiving my order anyway here is my story. Ordered the a bed and mattress to be delivered on the 5th january 2011. Mattress came no problem as for the bed only half the bed frame came, delivery man says the final part should be here the next morning, not the best of delivery buisness im sure, good job i kept my old bed until the new one came

I ordered a matress from matresses next day on Monday evening and the website said it would be delivered Wednesday morning.
My husband was off work so i gave my home and his moble number. The matress didn’t arrive so I rang and was told it wasn’t in stock. I asked why they had taken the money then and why they hadn’t contacted my husband. They said they rang my landline and was unable to leave a message they also said they had rang and spoken to someone who said it was fine that it was out of stock and they would wait for it to come back in. They did not speak to any of my family and I asked what number they had rang. they read out some unknown mobile, not the mobile on my order email. They said there must have been a mistake. They also hadn’t emailed me to tell me it was out of stock.
I was told the matress would be in stock in the next couple of days and because they had my money I decided to wait. I rang my home number and had no problem leaving a message. I also checked online and saw that the matress was still being advertised as in stock. It is now Friday and the matress hasn’t arrived and they have not contacted me. I have tried to ring them today and I could not get through. I am going to ask for a refund as after reading the reviews on this site I realise they have not been truthful about contacting me. It clearly says in their terms of sale that they do not take money for goods that are not in stock which is why they made up the story about the mysterious person who agreed to wait.
I just wish I’d have read these reviews before I ordered. I will probably have a battle now to get my money back. I would not reccomend them.
You need to get in touch with Consumer Direct and The Office of Fair Trading as this is potentially a criminal offence!! Selling goods that you do not have in stock is against the law.
This company is part of an older company, who are actually running a shop in south east London, they also run numerous online mattress & bed companys. I can assure you that 99% of this companies stock is NEVER actually In-stock! They sell on the strength of the item being IN-STOCK at the actual manufacturers warehouse, be it Silent Night, Sealy or even Tempur. So its not surprising that a lot of people are being let down, because the company Mattressnextday, Bedsonline, or the main hub The Classic Bed Company, dont find out that the SUPPLIER is out of stock until you have paid your money! They are also notorious for sending out inferior cheaper mattresses where many people dont notice the difference, or they have even been known to send out Customer Returns, which may have been slept on for a few weeks already!
Purchased Regal Air Flow.It stated online did not need turning and both myself and spouse are disabled and thought it would be helpful. After the first night the mattress did not recover and had a large dip in the middle and was very lumpy. After paying another forty pounds for someone to come and inspect the mattress i put my old mattress back on the bed and consigned the new one to the spare bed. The inspector came to look at the mattress and agreed that there was a dip in the middle and would phone in a few days to let me know what would happen next. Nothing was heard so i phoned after a week and was told that the bed should have been turned and rotated periodically.
I mentioned that it was listed as a no turn mattress but was told that they did not want to replace it and basically even though i had only slept on it for four nights they considered that it should have been turned and rotated in that short time. They were very rude and offered no customer service whatever. I would advise anyone who is thinking about buying a mattress from mattress next day to be very careful and think twice before parting with your hard earned cash because there is no comeback. Nno customer service and no respect for the buyer. Buyer beware!
We bought a matress from them back in April 2009 which came with a free matress protector. The protector never materialised. The matress is now awful – the memoy foam topperdoesnt bounce back, the spring squeak, the sides buldge and the matress is now lumpy – just through general wear and tear. I requested the matress be exchanged and they had tthe audacity to state that they charge 50% of the current RRP to replace!!! The warranty states 20% of the RRP. Ive now been waiting 11 days for the MD to ring me as I am now querying their exchange policy. Speak with consumer direct on 02454040506 as they are in breach of the state of goods act 1979! I wont be buying from them again and have now asked for a full refund! Very sharp pratice!

Update 20/12/10: Had a phone call from Martin Seeley – MD. He was rude, bombastic and spoke over me whenever I attempted to speak. He advised he would arrange for a representative to come out to inspect the mattress and then would give me a full refund if found to be fauly. I back our phone convrsation up via email and have not seen or heard from a representative at all – some 8 working days on. I have spoken to Office of Fair Trading and they are in breach of both the warranty that came with the matress AND the Sale of goods act 1979. This company should be shut down!
well i placed my order other day and after placing my order i start reading these reviews and now i am bit worry about my order. I have not recieve mine but can not complain as in this weather it is hard for me to leave the house. I hope once it clear i will recieve my mattress or will I? One thing is positive they have rang me up twice to update to inform me the order that it is delay due to this horrer weather.
I will not buy a new product from this company no matter how chaep it is. I have one of the worst experience dealing with them as there are a total mess and not sure what they are doing. I feel obliged to leave a review of my recent purchase from Mattress Next Day. When reading these reviews I always bear in mind that you any many times more likely to leave a review after a bad experience than after a good one; and so there is inherent bias in such review lists.
Anyway…
I made a purchase just before lunch on the Tuesday, and the Mattress arrived in perfect condition on Wednesday afternoon. Bearing in mind that I live in Northern Ireland and the mattress came from Kent, I thought that this was a remarkable achievement…
I will be using these guys again after this experience…

Bad Product and Horrible Customer Services
After ordering a mattress that is unsuitable for use i called the mattressnextday and the women at customer service just repeated the same sentence 3 times, like a robot, she didn’t offer me any options just kept repeating the same sentence. After spending over £100 i feel very let down and will seek help from citizen’s advice as i think once the company has your money they couldn’t care less. Clearly no customer care programme is in operation at this awful company (mattressnextday). They have changed my mind now for online shoping, to me it does not seem the way forward and especially if companies like this. I recommend strongly to avoiding this company.
This is one of those companies with a good website which hides the inefficiencies of the company itself.

A Sealy mattress I bought eight months became uncomfortable and in my opinion was not fit for purpose. Sealy referred me back to Mattressnextday where i offered to pay the upgrade cost to a more expensive mattress. Mattressnextday refused to come to any accomodation at all. So here I am having to buy a new mattress after only eight months.
This is not a customer focussed company….stay clear.

Utterly dreadful service. I ordered a mattress on a Thursday for ‘next day delivery’ (it’s all in the name guys…) – the mattress arrived the following Tuesday, 4 days LATE.
Far worse than this, the mattress had been arranged for delivery on the Saturday, and I waited in my home from 8am-1pm (5 whole long hours on a Saturday, my only day off) and it never arrived, and not even one courtesy phone call to say it wouldn’t be arriving.
I called customer services to find out what on earth was going on and got the same crap answering machine message saying no one could answer my call. I called over 20 times and eventually the office was closed, this left me very, very angry.
I eventually managed to get someone on Monday morning after 2 days solid of calling. They advertise on their website that they are open on Sundays – they are clearly closed.
Maybe change your opening hours on your website, employ some customer service staff who can actually answer a phone and re-name yourselves mattress, ‘might deliver next day, or a week late’.
Crap service. So angry I contatced trading standards, lets hope they investigate!

Worked for me too. Ordered online Thursday at 5.00pm and bed arrived Friday morning at 10.00am.
Had I read the reviews on this forum before placing my order I would have shopped elsewhere, however my experience has been a positive one.
Working in logistics myself, I know what a nightmare it can be, the key to coping with problems and keeping customers happy is communication, which is not one of this company’s strong points and one which they would be wise to address.
On the whole though, I was impressed with the quick turnaround of my order and am happy with my purchase.

It has been over a month now since I ordered and paid for 2 beds and mattresses. Three times I have been given delivery dates and then I have been telephoned (the day before) to say that they do not have my beds in stock. This is very bad customer service, this company (mattressnextday.co.uk) should not be taking peoples orders and money when they do not have the goods to deliver.
This also it appears that this has happened to a lot of customers. I only wished I had seen this before I had placed my order.I am surprised that no one so far has taken legal action as I am sure it is against consumer rights advertising goods they clearly do not have. I own a guest house and I cannot sell rooms that I do not have.
It is very important in business to give good customer services and get recommended to other potential customers. I would not recommend or use this company again.
I now just have wait patiently hoping that one day soon I might get my goods delivered. This company took my payment fast enough maybe I should be charging them interest on it.
Googled the Mattress Next Day name as I was waiting in for my Parents ordered Mattress and was concerned when I read the reviews. However at 11:25 Big Green arrived with Matress as ordered (even with free pillow). It looks like if they have in stock what you order you are OK.
The mark of a good company is how they deal with problems. When they get it right it is a different story.

Can mirror previous comments completely. My post is quite long but thats because I have stated the facts as they were so that others can see how the WHOLE process is. This is obviously my personal experience yours may differ but going from others comments I feel what I went through is fairly common. It’s down to you to decide if you want to use this company after reading what people have said.
13 calls made to Customer Services – 0 calls answered on this number but each call costs connection fee whether actually speak to human or not
Customer services email address: address not valid – had conf by 2 members of staff & checked all spellings.
We brought an ‘air mattress’ and after 8 months one of the cells failed meaning that only half of it would stay up making it useless & meaning we had a bed we couldn’t sleep on. Called the company Thursday & everytime I pressed ’2′ for Customer Services( in The loosest sense of the word imo)spoke to ‘Kevin’ who apologised & said that Customer Services would call me back. Asked when & made clear that because of the type of mattress we had brought from them I wanted it dealt with ASAP as we had nothing 2 sleep on.
Was told “it will be today, if not then definitely tomorrow”. No cb on Thursday. Waited till midday Friday then called them. AGAIN c/s not answered & cuts you off. Called Sales spoke to ‘Matt’ who went off and found details. Advised being looked into & assured cb later that day. Knowing they close @ 17:00 I cb @ 16:10 told by ‘Kevin’ that it is being looked into. No answer as to why wasnt called back once again despite being told I would be. Again reiterated that we have had no bed to sleep on since Wednesday when it broke. After 20 mins on the phone he then decided to tell me that c/s ( conveniently) close @ 16:00, despite website saying there till 17:00. Advised totally unacceptable and wanted to talk to senior manager.
‘Kevin’ said that he was Supervisor & no one else around. Said imo if he was a Supervisor then he should have @ least a working knowledge of the c/s dept & therefore should be able to rectify the situation especially as I had been lied to and not cb a number of times now & was about to spend the weekend sleeping on the couch because of their failings. cb was arranged by him for ‘Jody’ sat morning. Call was actually made and only 5 minutes late.
Was told was being looked into and she would call me next week.Pointed out I knew it “was being looked” by ‘Kevin’ y’day & that I wanted it sorted now. She said she needed to speak to MD( Mr Seeley) about it. Asked her to explain as it was fairly clear cut imo – the mattress wasnt fit for purpose & needed to be replaced, furthermore this Should have been done on Thursday & would mean I’d have a bed to sleep on by now. ‘Jody’ FINALLY admitted that mattress no longer made & needed to get advice( something me & my partner had already established by going on website & seeing no longer listed). I said that it was still clear cut & if she had’ve spoken to their supplier they wouldve offered an alternative to them as this is just standard practice. Questioned ‘Jody’ about why not dealt with on Friday & told unsure.
I asked for the person she handed our case over to and she then said that “the person I gave it to wasn’t actually in on Thursday and I wasn’t in on Friday” – asked her to explain exactly how she felt this was sensible, good practice or even common sense – no answer given. Said I still wanted persons name as when I called Friday @ midday ‘Matt’ in sales had managed to find all the details so whoever she handed it over to obviously wasn’t doing their job & I wanted to discuss that with the head of c/s. At this point ‘Jody’ admitted that she hadnt handed it over at all. This( after 3 days of not having a bed to sleep on) tipped me over the edge. I demanded an explanation as to how in her opinion she felt that leaving someone without a bed to sleep for at least FIVE days was the proper course of action – no answer given.
Said I expected her to contact the head of C/S irrelevant of if they were in that day as she needed to put things right immediately. She asked for 30 mins to get hold of ‘Andrew Paul’ who she said was head of c/s but have since found out is General Manager. Said I wasnt unreasonable & was happy for a cb within an hour as she may have to make a couple calls. CB recieved 40 mins later. when ‘Jody’ said that couldnt get hold of anyone but was willing to offer us a totally different( conventional design rather than air filled) mattress that was in stock and would be with us by Tuesday. Said that if it was in stock I expected it to be sent sameday delivery on Monday as that would be day 5 of not having anywhere proper to sleep & the company had constantly failed in its duties & obligations & had lied to me. She said unable to do this so I told her I would expect a cb by Andrew Paul’ by 10 past 8 Monday morning aftert getting her to confirm both ‘AP’ & herself were both in. No cb received. Called c/s and AGAIN no answer. Called Sales and ‘Jody’ answered!!!! Asked why no cb received and she transferred me to AP without any apology. AP immediately confrontational & said that he thought I was aggressive to his staff. Pointed out that my 1st 3 calls were calm & polite but after several days of not having anywhere apart from a 2 seater sofa to sleep on & finding out his staff had lied to me repeatedly that of courser I was upset & annoyed.
‘Andrew Paul’ then said that “maybe I will need to arrange an inspection before we can replace anything what do you think of that”? advised that if he wanted to play games like that when his company had already admitted fault & liability that I would come to the office as I had the address and he, the MD & myself could ‘inspect’ it together & whilst their I would take my replacement. AP said ..”needs to be done by expert & that wouldn’t be possible today” pointed out due to design of mattress no expert would be needed as the failure was immediately apparent & unquestionable. When he realized that his, imo, stalling & attempt at intimidation tactic had failed as I had called him out he changed tack. Siad I expected this dealt with today but he constantly refused to give even a ball park time even when asked if Mr Seeley was in meetings all day or just the morning. Said didn’t expect exact time as reasonable he couldnt give so simply by midday or after would be okay – AP refused to give even this. I also asked why no one in cs ever answered the phone. He challenged that saying “that’s your opinion which your entitled to but I don’t have to listen to and your wrong”.
Pointed out that it was actually a statement of fact as I had made a total of 13 calls to the company and not once had the c/s line been answered I ALWAYS had to cb to sales. AP just repeated what he had just said.
Got cb from Managing Director Mr Seeley( MS) who said ..”you’ve got £149.00 what do you want to do with it2 asked him exactly what he meant & told ..”you can spend it with us I can refund it to you you can do what you want with it”. Told him that ‘Jody’ had offered replacement and delivery which I wanted today but would accept tomorrow as now past midday but my overriding priority was to have a bed to sleep on ASAP.
I gave him the name of the mattress & he then blew me away by saying “I just need to take the difference” I, after nearly choking, asked him how on earth he felt that was reasonable reminding him of his companies failures & staff lying to me repeatedly. Was then told that “its your fault that we’re here because of how you were to my staff”. Said to him that I wouldn’t even challenge that I was forceful with his staff but, imo, had fair reason to be baring inmind I had been constantly lied to & they never called back when they said they would etc etc..
MS then decided that he just wanted to move on but wanted the £30 difference paid prior to sending it( this by the way is illegal! If a company sells a faulty product that they then discontinue then it is the companies responsibility to put things right and absorb themselves any reasonable additional costs.) I also pointed out that I had easily spent £15-20 in phone calls to his company as they never returned mine & again if he really thought it was reasonable for me to be any extra. MS said would split difference. Realizing that he wouldn’t move I was essentially imo, blackmailed into paying this excess as after 5 days I need a bed to sleep on. Delivery is supposed to be tomorrow( Tuesday but going from other posters comments we will wait & to see. Though to be fair to them our original delivery did arrive on the correct day).

yh sorry about the length of the post but like I said – if people can see exactly what they may come up against if things go wrong they are better warned/ prepared.
I dont consider the matter closed per say but to save my sanity I need to ensure I get a mattress so I can actually have a proper nights sleep lol

We have had the same problems as the other reviews. We were told the bed was in stock and that it would be delivered Saturday. Friday we received a message saying that there was a problem with the order. We can not contact them.

Mattress Next Day is using another company name ‘Classis Bedsteads’. There is no link to mattress next day on the classic bedsteads website. The link appears once the order has been placed and shows up on the email confirming the order.
We have had similar problems to the reports above. We were told they had the mattress in stock and that it could be delivered Saturday. Friday we had a message that there was a problem with the mattress and we have not been able to contact them. Avoid Classic Bedsteads.
I ordered a bed frame 2 weeks ago. I’ve just phoned up to cancel my order and they have told me it is in stock and will be delivered tomorrow morning. Whilst I was waiting, on the phone, I found this site. WHY didn’t I google this company before!!! If it doesn’t arrive in the morning I’ll let you and the rest of the UK know lol.
I was worried having read reviews so phoned customer services first and was reassured that the 4 mattresses i wanted were in stock and would be delivered as promised. The mattresses were delivered in the time slot given. Good company, good value would use again.

Ordered from them for delivery today. They advertise delivery as 8am to 1pm. No-one turned up by 1pm. I gave them 20 minutes grace and then had to go out.
Gave them multiple contact details but no-one called or e-mailed. I tried to call them repeatedly but their number just says “there is no-one available to take your call” and then hangs up. It’s being doing that all afternoon.
Sent them an e-mail to try and get a refund. Completely fed up with them.

Because of poor reviews from various websites I phoned them up and got a reply with 6 rings. Asked about product stock status and they said in stock.
Ordered online then with delivery for next day Wed 22nd.
Phoned at 9.30 Weds 2nd to check if product dispatched, they called back within 5 mins to say it had.
Delivered before 1am Weds 22nd.
Cheerful enough driver given that it has nothing to do with Mattressnextday, (green parcel machine).
Product all ok with no damage and free pillow is quite nice too.
All in all very happy with service, but maybe its because I was proactive.
Im panicking now, I ordered a mattress from these people last wednesday and booked delivery for today, i’ve not heard anything from my flat mate about it arriving said on email confirmation that it would be delivered between 7-12. I wish i’d have read these now……………….i need my mattress i have nothing to sleep on!! lol

Really glad I saw this site and other reviews before I placed an order. Thought i’d found the perfect mattress at the right price. Just did a last check and found the reviews. Really wanted the mattress so thought i’d check they had stock first, as this seems to be a major issue with them. They didn’t reply, hence no order placed. Used Mattressman in the end, £10 more but excellent service and next day delivery.
I really wish I had seen this site before I ordered on tuesday!! I am terrified of what will be waiting for me when I get home!
I Ordered 2 bedframes and 2 matresses online on 13/9/10 prior to their next day deadline of 4pm. Funds immediately taken from credit card and email received confirming next day delivery on Tues 14 Sep between 8.30 and 1pm. I took the day off work to stay at home and wait.
At 12.30 no sign. Called up the head office, item not dispatched due to one item being out of stock – this was not indicated at any point of purchase or order nor was it communicated after the order was made.
They advised that the item had to be ordered direct from manufacturer before 11am (changing their story) and therefore could only be delivered on Thurs 16/09. When asked why no one had been in touch they advised that they had attempted to call at 16.35 and 16.37 but it was engagaed, which being a mobile, I’ve tested and proved to be a lie. I have also checked and was not on the phone at this time.
Requested to escalate through to a supervisor and ‘Matt’ near enough refused and was very rude in telling me that it wouldn’t make any difference. The supervisor, ‘Kevin’ was more sypathetic but still refused to make any efforts to help resolve the issue. Further escalation to who was most shockingly titled the General Manager, ‘Andrew’ resulted in yet more rude attitude and no offer of compensation, no effort to make a special delivery after I suggested this.
Reluctantly I accepted Thursday as the delivery date and my flatmate would be able to be late for work to accept this.
Thursday arrives. I call to confirm dispatch and they confirm between 8.30 and 1pm. At 12.10 three items arrive (1 frame and two mattresses) and the box is battered beyond belief – I dread to think of the damage that may have befallen this frame…As one of the other comments mentioned the driver was not able to deliver beyond the door – astonishing, but my flatmate managed to persuade him!
I contact the office to find out where the remaining bed frame is and am told that it is being delivered by a second courier by 2pm. Further proof that they do not have a clue what they are doing. As there is no one available to collect this item at the flat at this time, I will now have to see if this has arrived safely when I get home.
I am documenting all photos and once I have attempted to build this when I get home, I will send everything through to Watchdog – I strongly urge everyone to do the same!!!
I am pleased to say I ordered on a late thursday afternoon and my mattress was with me the following day…and i live in the highlands. I had great service,great mattress and a free pillow…..I really cant complain!
Has anyone attempted to contact WatchDog (TV Prog), would help stop others from making a big mistake ordering from this so called nextday joke of a company?. Its been over a week and I’m still awaiting my top of the range mattress the Coolmax/reflex one which has 10/10 firmness (await to see if that is true) & ordered two pillows to go with it. Someone called yesterday (Monday 13th Sept) to say the same old story, their orders got mixed up hence the delay and then told me I’d have my order delivered tomorrow any-time between 8am and 1pm, its past 2pm now and where the heck is my order????
This is sooo frustrating.
Wished I researched this company before ordering, one of the worst customer service in history as they NEVER pick-up on both numbers and the delivery mobile number goes to voice msg, they never reply to emails! Why are they allowed to trade????
If I dont get my mattress by Tomorrow I’ll be intouch with watchdog myself.

Update: I called this morning at 8:30am and to my surprise someone picked up, I demanded an explanation as to why they could not deliver yesterday, apparently the mattress was damaged by the driver and I was assured I’d receive all my goods by this Thursday. Well lets wait and see if they can keep to their word!!!
Yes to my surprise I received my mattress and two pillows on Thursday 16th. Relived that I have my order after having placed it a week ago. To be accurate MattressNextDay should be changed to MattressNextWeek!!
I only wish I had read all the dreadful reviews out there before ordering from Mattressnextday, which from now on I will refer to as Mattressthedayafterthedayafterthedayafterthenextday.co.uk.(hahahaha)
I ordered a frame and mattress on Tuesday, the reason I chose this site was because I wanted it the next day.
I arranged for someone to sit it and wait for the delivery, at 12.30 I received a phone call to say there had been a problem with my order and that they would not be able to deliver until tomorrow. I asked if i could call back as I needed to try and find someone else who was available to sit in the house and wait the following day, so they gave me a number to call back. After several hours of not being able to get through to an advisor and being cut off every time I thought I was getting somewhere, I decided to google the company!! I wasn’t surprised to see the hundred of terrible reviews for them. Eventually I got through on the phone and we agreed delivery for the next day.
The next day………….no frame, no mattress, no phone call. I called them, battled to get through on the phone only to be told it had been dispatched and that they needed to check with courier and they would call back. I did not hold out much hope. An hour later I got a call back, actually, no it hadn’t been dispatched, they would send tomorrow!! At this point I had had enough. I asked for my money back which incidentally they had taken out of my account before the order had been fulfilled (breaching their t&cs). I was persuaded into Saturday delivery (at no extra charge) as I couldn’t have a day off work to sit and wait, and I really needed a bed and couldn’t deal with the hassle of trying to get money back.
Sunday morning came bringing with it the bed frame and mattress! I was missing one of the free memory foam pillows, but the one I did receive smelt awful so I am not bothered that the other one is missing.
The bed wasn’t great, the instructions were appalling. I need to scan them in order to change the contrast so I could actually read them, a drill was needed on several occasions, to drill extra holes where holes were missing and at one point we had to drill through the metal and file in down in order to make the central beam across the middle of the frame fit in the holes provided. The 8/10 firmness of the mattress I could describe as a 5/10.
All in all a deeply unsatisfactory experience at Mattressthedayafterthedayafterthedayafterthenextday.co.uk. Do avoid this company, it is worth waiting the extra few days for delivery and getting it from someone reliable.

The Bad: It was the wrong mattress.
The Ugly: non existent customer services – automated phone system, no one answere regardless of options tried over a four hour period, automatic cut-off, no opportunity to wait in queue. Web based email similarly receives no reply. Have now had to send heavy duty “signed for” letter to director Patrick seeley at their registered address. Looks like this could be a long battle. Also discovered, post ordering, that they are not the cheapest by a long shot

Mattressnextday is a horrible company offering rubbish customer service and deliver service!
Last week I ordered a mattress from them though it was luck to fast delivery. however, everything turned into nightmare since I ordered, they phone next day to say there was out of stock the one I ordered then I had to change to other available mattress. Their deliverr man dropped the mattress on the road and refused to deliver to my flat; he shooting that I have to pay extra charge to have him lift it to my flat (about 15 metres away) . He said he only delivered nearby he didn’t work for mattressnextday when I said it’s unacceptable I had to phone the company.
There’s no way I should accept this insult and too heavy for me to carry back on my own so I refused to take the item on the spot.
I phoned the mattressnext day service, they said it’s nothing to do with them it’s the courier company’s fault. They just coldly said because I refused to take the item they charged me £69.00 for this which they did take money from my card!!
I am not going to let them get away with this, still trying to see if there’s any consumer legal right bureau like ADR that I can make a complaint.
I should have realised when they phoned me an hour or so after I placed the order. They were very sorry but couldn’t deliver that frame next day. When I suggested an alternative, that too just happened to be out of stock, despite the website saying Next Day delivery was available.
Now cannot get any form of response from the company – phone, email…
I have advised some of the companies whose logo appears on their website of the damage they might do to their reputation. Please follow suit!
Avoid this shambles at all costs, ordered a bed and mattress a month ago, got a phone call to say they couldn’t deliver as items not in stock, they said they would ring when they did. 4 weeks later no call, rang today for them to say the bed i ordered has been discontinued in the colour i ordered and did i want to choose another colour, which also wasn’t in stock, to which i asked for a full refund which i expect by friday. informed them about these other bad reviews so they are aware of their crappy service (some how they don’t appear to be). Will go elsewhere, thought this website looked too good to be true given the prices, idiots……
some its hard for me to understand how these guys still doing business, as internet is full for bad comments for them and they do not care about it as well. You have mention rightly there service is crap and you never have delivery on time…

Phoning them – the 01227 263222 number was eventually ordered (even on the Saturday). Kevin Lawry (Sales Supervisor) gave me wrong information. Andrew (refused to give surname – what does that tell you !) unhelpful.
My mattress seems ok. Memory foam pillow is in fact ‘flakes’ so useless – was unbagged and dirty and already in the bin.
Please, please, do not order from this company thinking, ‘Well I don’t need it by the next day so they should be able to deliver on the right day’. I ordered 2 WEEKS before the delivery date and paid £19 for a Saturday delivery but ‘Mattress next day’ left it until the day before to announce that the frame wasn’t in stock. They left the message with my daughter and when I tried to ring them back, of course I couldn’t get through for hours, until after 4pm (when they suddenly answer their phones). I was then told that it was too late to cancel the order as the mattress was on the lorry, ready for delivery the next day. I said that I was willing to accept any frame instead but they had none in stock for delivery the next day. I argued that I would not be accepting delivery of the mattress and that I wanted a refund because payment had been taken from my credit card 2 weeks earlier. I must say they weren’t rude but they certainly weren’t concerned and were not at all organised (it took them 10 mins to locate my order even though I quoted the order number) The manager then agreed to a refund.
The mattress did turn up the next day and the delivery man claimed to know nothing of the problem. It was refused and returned but no refund appeared on my statement.
I spoke to Trading Standards who gave me advice and a template letter to send via recorded delivery. Only when the company recieved this, a week later, did they phone to apologise for the ‘Mix up’ and my credit card was refunded.
I only purchased from this company because I needed a 4ft bed and the price seemed reasonable,however, having seen all the other people on this site who have had problems, Mattress next day obviously can’t deliver on their promises – no matter how long they are given to get your bed ‘in stock’.
I have to say that I found this company very difficult to deal with, and they didn’t uphold their end of the bargain. I ordered a Joseph Betel bed for my mother who is 70. Initially I wanted it delivered on a weekday as it was free, but then I was surprised when I was told that because of insurance issues the courier would only pass it over the threshold of the property to her, and not take it inside. As I explained she is an old lady and has suffered several strokes so hardly able to manhandle a huge box containing a flatpacked bedframe!
So, I changed the order to a Saturday delivery, explaining to the company representative that given the courier’s inability to take the package into my mother’s hallway I would have to get up at 3.30am and travel the 300 miles to her address in order to receive it, so it was crucial that it arrive.
As others have said this bedframe was out of stock despite the website saying different so I decided to go through with the order and wait the month or so it would take for the bedframe to be available. And this is where the company broke one of the T&C’s binding covenants which is that they will not take any monies until the product is available – within two days of my order the full amount of £274 was deducted from my credit card, even though it was weeks before the 19th July availability date. I wonder if the company has a cash flow problem? Otherwise, why break your own T&Cs and effectively illegally take money for goods not available?
A few days before the bedframe was due a company representative called me to assure me that it would be delivered on Saturday so I thought all well and good.
I made the journey, thinking that since deliveries stopped at 1pm I would have the afternoon to assemble the bed, and then return home on the Sunday. But both my mother and I waited all day on Saturday for the bed to be delivered but to no avail. I tried calling the company ten times but no one picked up so rather than try the “1″ or “2″ options I instead used the “0″ option that no one is told about and which bypasses the automatic cutoff. I got through to a pleasant girl who assured me that the bed had been dispatched to me, and it was due for delivery that day.
This is where the company broke a second of its own T&C’s binding covenants which is that if there is a problem in completing the order/delivery they will call you to let you know… in my case, I had to pester them to get any information out of them, and even that information turned out to be false.
By 7pm there was no sign of the bed at all. I thought naively that perhaps, given my mother lives in Cornwall, that the courier company might – just might – deliver it first thing on Sunday morning but no, nothing. I had no recourse but to stay in Cornwall and take another few days off to try and rectify the problem.
Monday morning came and I called the company first thing. I spoke with a young man called Matt who tried to find out what had gone wrong but when he called me back he admitted that despite being told on Saturday the bed had been dispatched to me, there had been a mix-up and the bed hadn’t been scanned in… so why was I told it had been dispatched? The young man had no answer for me, and when I asked him to get his supervisor or indeed the company’s MD to call me to explain why the confusion had happened in the first place and what sort of recompense I could expect I never received a call back. Two days later I am still waiting although Mr Seeley, the MD, ought to note that he will be hearing from me in the future.
Finally, Monday morning the bedframe arrived via a local courier service. When I quizzed the man about the order he showed me the paperwork and I discovered that there had been no intention to deliver to me on Saturday – if there had been then there would have been a special note on the delivery form. Indeed, when I asked the delivery man further he admitted that the courier company don’t deliver on a weekend and that they only received the goods in question on Saturday in the first place!
And to add insult to injury there was no sign of the free memory foam pillow that is so well-displayed as a selling point on the website.
I have to say that although the product was reasonable, the service I received was terrible and I won’t be recommending the website to anyone in the near future. As other disgruntled customers have said in their postings on other company review websites I would avoid this company if only to teach them the valuable lesson that good reputation equals good revenue… and I’d like to see them hit where it hurts – in their profit and loss sheet!

I ordered my mattress on wednesday after checking on their website that mattress is in stock. I recieved an email confirming the order and it said it will be delivered on the next day (thursday). I asked for day off from my work and waited full day for my mattress which never arrived and No phone call from tem either. Their customer service phone number is extremely difficult to get in touch.
I sent an email on friday morning , No response. Finally spent one hour on saturday, to ring them on their phone number. When I got thrugh to customer representative, I was told that mattress i have order is “Out of stock” and will take at least one week more. He also claimed that they tried to ring me and left a voicemail on my mobile, despite me telling him clearly that I have received absolutely NO missed calls or voicemails on my mobile fro you guys. He said that their website is slow to update so keeps showing item as in stock when they are not.
Therefore, I have requested for cancellation of my order and refund. I am still waiting for refund.
Absolute waste of time to order from them. Just AVOID,MattressNextDay if you can.
A few tips: Call on 01227 263222 number. It is cheaper. Do not select any options, just let it ring – (it will take a while, but someone will eventually answer.)
well when i ordered my bed and mattress early this year, i even confirm them and on phone to make sure that they have the items in stok but still recieve half of my order one week later and half of my stuff two week later, so what you can say. Its not just their website which has issues in updating correctly even their staff will tell you that it item is in stock when actully not.

I really can’t beleive MattressNextDay are still in business!?!?! I am so mad. I wish I had found this website before I ordered my bed with them. Ordered a mattress for next day delivery, which I really needed as I had guests coming to stay with us. Waited for the delivery to arrive (took the day off work too) & nothing.
When I phoned them to complain, they were really rude. I started out being nice as I know sometimes these things happen, but they were so rude right from the beginning. The guy who answered didn’t seem to have a clue & said the mattress wans’t in stock. I thought this was illegal??? You can’t sell something on the web if you haven’t got it.
They wouldn’t refund my money (which they took off my card even though they knew they wouldn’t be sending me the mattress) and I’m still waiting for a mattress a week after my guests have been and gone (they had to sleep on a blow-up mattress – how embarrassing!!!).

Please be careful! This company is not a trusted one. I ordered a bed through their website and one I received was defective the middle support bar bent and was risky. They sent out a new one and to my horror this was also bent! I am still waiting for a new one to be sent and have spent the last two weeks on the sofa! Do not use this mattress next day for your mattress and beds. There customer services are disgusting! BEWARE!
I just ordered a bed with this website – after reading reviews on here i thought ‘well some were good and some bad…I’ll take a chance.’ I opted for same day delivery for an extra charge. But something didn’t sit right with me so i called them after 20 minutes of ordering. I am glad I did. As others have said – the bed was not in stock, and wouldn’t be until maybe mid next week, also the driver (singular?) was not in today and so same day delivery would not be possible.
I am glad i managed to to get in touch with them before they had processed my payment. But what is annoying is that the website doesn’t say ‘OUT OF STOCK’ or ‘SORRY – ITS A SUNNY DAY SO OUR DRIVER HAS GONE TO BRIGHTON AND THEREFORE WON’T BE ABLE TO MAKE SAME DAY DELIVERY’. Had i not called the internet payment would’ve gone through. It is only after that I would have been informed that I would have to wait. And judging by other peoples reviews I’d be waiting for a long time.

let me tell you one thing when i orderd last year i ring them first to confirm that they have every thing in stock and will deliver me on time but still after taking my money they were one week late and with half of the order i gave…so to me not sure you will recieve you nextday or sameday delivery anyway….Good luck to the people who have recieved their item on time from MattressNextDay

However the last one I received was so bad I asked for an exchange,

I sent a letter to their MD and they are still ignoring me…

No bed, No mattress, No idea, but they took the money!
Was told order would be delivered Monday, rang Monday am to confirm, they had no record of the order but had my money. Have no bed now as we expected delivery on Monday, they now tell me after 3 calls that the items I ordered are not all in stock, so would we accept an alternative, when agreed to they inform me that they cannot get the order to me until Tuesday. Wasted day Monday and now having to wait in for them again on Tuesday as they cannot tell me what time they will arrive. Very poor customer service, I got the impression that their system errors were not their responsibility and therefore I could like it or lump it.
what did you said, mattress nedt day or mattress next month, to me they are very good company for mattress next month but with defective items
Thankyou thankyou thankyou for creating this website. I was very close to putting in an order for £400 for a new mattress using this company but thought i would check for reviews first. I now will go with a more reputable dealer for the same price but wait the 14 – 21 days for delivery…. i thought it was to good to be true.

MattresNextDelivery is ruining my plans. We ordered two bed frames & two mattresses for delivery two days later. I would have thought two days was plenty of time to sort out the order given that they boast ‘next day delivery’. The mattresses arrived on the correct delivery date no problem, but no sign of the bed frames. Nobody had contacted us to say that the bed frames are not in stock or when they will deliver them, so I rang up the office to see what was happening with delivery of my bed frames. The gentleman at customer services said he would check with the supplier and get back to me. He didn’t (as it is on most of cases after reading a lot of reviews about mattressnextday). I rang the office again at 4.30pm, only to get the answer machine message telling me that the office was closed, despite the message also telling me that the office is open between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and website is showing same hours of working. Having looked at the reviews on this website and many more, I am now a little concerned whether the bed frames will arrive at all! I will let you know how I get on…

I just got my mattress delivered, thought it wasnt going to turn up because of reading all the bad reviews once i had purchased it online but only 10 minutes late and i’m happy! Maybe wouldn’t risk ordering from them again in case next time it doesnt turn up though.

I ordered my dad on the 4th of May 2010. They called dad to told him that it would take 2 days. It is now nearly a month later (1st June) and there are still only excuses. Tomorrow he is going to try to get his money back, I hope he can, I feel terrible because it was my suggestion to buy from mattressnextday. He only has a pension and it was a big investment for him. It is up to you if you want to take the chance with this company

On the 17th of March 2010 via the internet we ordered a Lyon Ottoman kingsize bed, which was showing in stock on their web site. Paid via the internet recieving two conformation emails, after taking a day off work to await delivery as specified on the email, we recieved no bed. We contacted the company to demand a delivery date to be told that the bed we ordered was out of stock, but due in next week. We waiting another week, no bed arrived, phone call back to them, we were told next week, well i think you can get the picture and this went on until the 19th of April 2010. Finally we contacted the company to be told, you guessed it, but demanded a full refund. Now we’ll wait and see what challenges await us. Having renovated a house over the past two years this is not the first S&*t comapny we’ve come across. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE NOT THE BARGAINS THAT THEY APPEAR.

Terrible company (Mattressnextday), ordered via internet received 2 confirmation emails. First one stating my money was being held by a middle man until the transaction was completed. And a second station my order would be delivered on the 8th of April having ordered on the 6th of April.
by lunch time on the 8th of April I became concerned as there was no bed so decided to ring to confirm my deliver time, 3 phone calls later (me to them) as no one could find the paper work for my order I was finally rang back to be told the items we had ordered were not in stock. As we wanted a bed sooner hence buying from “mattress next day” we cancelled the order and decided to buy else where. We were told by the company the money would be re-credited to my account by the end of the day 8th of April. Having checked my account online on the 9th of April’s morning i find they have debited my account!!
This is where I am now waiting for them to open to call them and get my money back!!!

They will debit your card when the item is not in stock despite their terms & conditions explicitly stating that they will not do so until dispatch, (and incidentally in contravention of VISA merchant regulations).
You will not be notified that an item is out of stock until AFTER you have paid.
You will never hear from them again.
Can’t get refund from card issuer for 30 days and no mattress.
Avoid at all costs – and go somewhere reputable.
i am doing research about this company after placing my order with them, i got to say that i have mix feeling after reading review here and on some other website. I will keep my finger cross and hope for best
I recently bought a budget mattress from MattressNextDay and the quality was nonexistent, When I rang up to complain all I got was a brush off, return it at my own expense, this company sell factory rejects and when the customer finds out what they have bought which can only be discribed as a quilt with spings in it it’s to late, do yourself a favour buy from a reputable company or a local shop, don’t under any circumstances by from MattressNextDay.
Have been so pleased with mattressnextday – everything was fine! just had to register our good experience somewhere! but considering all the bad reviews I suppose we were just lucky…
Ordered a divan 4 drawer for my son whose bed had collapsed I ordered on the 21st for delivery on 22nd Dec. Similiar to a previous customer if I could give 0 I would! Bed delivered with no fixtures/fittings apart from 4 wheels already attached to base. 2 drawers were broken.
When I contacted customer services told the manager was too busy to take my call would call me back never happened (are you surprised)? 23rd I called again and was told that the fixtures would be delivered 24th Dec guess what again never happened. Today 29th Dec I called again were not interested in my complaint and would deliver a bed on 7th Jan (which then changed to the 5th when i again complained) to which I was disgusted was made out to be a liar (wouldnt have said they would deliver christmas eve) and were more interested with arguing with me and could not understand why i was so angry because I didnt want to listen to their poor excuse of an apology.
By the way this is a small run down of the story – If you think you are getting a good deal think again might be cheap and convenient but in the long run will work out more expensive and a huge amount of hassle
unfortunately I have to concur with the negative reviews below. Bed frame listed as in stock was delivered damaged and with headboard missing. contacted customer services and arranged collection on a friday, so far so good but this is where it all fell over…. contacted mattressman on the Thursday to confirm collection and was told all was well, noone showed Friday am so called at 1400 to be told still coming but couldnt say when made last call at 1710 when a girl said she would contact driver to find out what was going on and she came back to say definitely picking up…. as you can guess noone showed.
Managed to get an answer first thing Monday morning and was told that the driver was over his weight limit and couldn’t collect, remember this was a bed not 2 tons of concrete. arranged for collection again this am again no show and I cant get an answer from customer services always an answerphone now and they don’t call back. all I can do now is pass it to trading standards and claim the money back through my credit card. I suspect that if you get the right product delivered first time you’ll be OK but you’re on your own if you dont. my personal point of view is AVOID.
Mattresnenxtday is a fraud, they do not deliver what they promised, i can not believe these guys…they have rubish

yes there is no doubt that Mattrs next day is rubish company when it comes to their delivery and comunication syestem, they have rude staff.

I have ordered with MattressNextDay several times and have found both their service and products to be of excellent quality.
Would recommend MattressNextDay to anyone and I shall be using their service again in the near future.

BUYER BEWARE: This company just stinks. Their customer service team is outrageously rude and unsympathetic, and the products you receive….there is no validation or proof that you have actually got the genuine article made by the manufacturer, and I am uncovering more dubious evidence of this as I speak. I received a mattress that was not the mattress it claimed to be on the website, it did not even look the same (illegal under the goods an services act 1979) yet they refused to have it returned for free. Instead, the Supervisor insisted it was the same mattress just looked different, with a different finish. Wtf!!?
Quite frankly if I order something off the internet, I want what is in that picture, and even though it says in their terms the pic is an ‘approximation’, and entirely different stitching and quilted finish is not by anyone’s standards a legitimate ‘approximation. Yet when confronted about this, the superivisor would not take on board my dissatisfaction. I personally believe because this company acts with such disregard to the customer, that there is some likelihood that I have been sold a lesser model mattress (which incidentally looks exactly the same as the one they delivered) and have tried to fob it off as the higher quality and more expensive model. I will be investigating this to the hilt even if I personally have to rip up the mattress, count all the springs and get somebody to test the material. If it turns out to be the case, then that is outright FRAUD – not just misleading advertising.
If this turns out to be true, they might be jailed, and the company definitely struck off. At present, with their refusal to return for free the WRONG mattress they gave me, I will now be forced to settle this in small claims court. You can never get through to them on their phones either. I am just kicking myself that I had not been aware of these hundreds upon hundreds of dissatisfied voices here on the internet, before purchasing.
there is not doubt that they have very cheap prices as compare to their competitors but one thing is for sure MattressNextDay service is rubbish, they deliver me my product 5 days latter than what they promised me at the time of booking which is a bit of pain.
Failed to change order from double to king, as they do not monitor sales at mattressnextday.co.uk from where the order confirmation was sent. No email address provided on their web site. Eventually delivered the bed I didn’t want, then refused to take it back again.
Seriously rude and poor customer service experience. Now they say I’ve gone over ten day return period. So let’s see if I can send it back and claim through a dispute with the credit card company. Avoid avoid avoid.
I have purchased a Bed from MattressNextday.
I have to say I was very impressed by there service.
I had seen a bed at another store and asked them if they had this one in stock.
I was told that they didn’t. However could provide another one which was better quaility for less.
They explained what the differneces were and why it ws better.
I was also told that if I didn’t like it it could be returned within 10 days. But I would have to pay for the shipping back. (WHich is fair enough).
The Bed came the next day, and is superb.
Great Bed, Great service, and I got a free pillow, which is worth around £20.
For me I would certainly recommend them.

i rang them first to get a feel for the company before placing the order and the guy i spoke to was pleasant but a bit clueless. he did confirm the item was in stock and that if i wished it could be delivered Fri AM. As i would not be in i opted for the following Mon AM and it has not been delivered. I have rung them and spoke to another man who was also pleasant and he advised the order did not come through properly – its a shame they did not think to contact me as i have waited in all morning but have agreed to delivery Wed am so will post if it fails to turn up on wed am as promised.
very Rubbish company, i will not recommend this to any one. They promise me every day that they are going to deliver me next day, and that next is not coming because according to them there is always next day. I have ordered item on 14 dec and was promised to get delivered on 17 of dec and today is 22 dec and i still do not have my delivery. And i ring there Depo and ask the guys to give me his name and he says he can not give me his name as this is not the policy of Company… ow they made another promise that they are going to deliver Tomorrow but i donot believe them. I would recomend you guys to pay 10 or 15 pound extra but do not even think of buying any thing from this Rubbish Company (RubbishMattressnextday).
I agree with you – we ordered from this company in early December and guess what? We still don’t have mattress – just another vague promise about it coming in the next 7 days (which they have been telling me every week so far). Wish we’d ordered from someone else.
